Local Budget (formerly Tally) is a personal budgeting app published by Triplet Notes LLC ("we," "us"). The short version: we don't collect your data, and it never reaches us.
Local Budget has no account system, no login, and no servers we control. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any of your personal or financial information. We cannot see your transactions, balances, statements, budgets, or anything else you enter or import. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising, no third party tracking, and no crash reporting service that transmits your data.
Everything you import or create in Local Budget (credit card statements, transactions, budgets, bills, income, savings goals, categories, labels, and notes) is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us or any third party. If you delete the app, that data is removed from your device, except for the two small items kept in your device's Keychain described below.
If you choose to connect Apple Card, Local Budget uses Apple's FinanceKit to read your Apple Card transactions from Apple Wallet on your iPhone. Before Apple asks for your permission, the app shows you what it reads and how it is used.
Backups you export are always encrypted with a password you choose. We never see the password or the backup. The app keeps the password in your device's Keychain so it can open your backups for you. You choose where it is kept:
"Forget This Password" in the app deletes it from this device and, if it was synced, from your iCloud Keychain. Where you store a backup file (Files, iCloud Drive, or anywhere else) is your choice. CSV exports are not encrypted, because they are meant to be opened in a spreadsheet.
Besides the optional backup password above, the app stores one other item outside its own data:
Items in the Keychain can remain on your device after the app is deleted, which is how iOS works, and they are only readable by Local Budget. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Local Budget offers an optional subscription, Local Budget Pro. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details. Apple provides us only the anonymous subscription status needed to unlock Pro features. Subscriptions are handled under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
If you enable bill or reminder notifications, they are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No notification content is sent to us.
Local Budget is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Because the app collects no information at all, this poses no additional risk.
We hold none of your data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. You control your data entirely: delete individual records in the app, use "Delete All Data" in Settings, or remove the app to erase everything stored in the app. The import count and the backup password, if you set one, are kept in the Keychain as described above; "Forget This Password" removes the password. The import count in your iCloud Key-Value Store is removed when you sign out of iCloud or clear the app's iCloud data.
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before the change ships.
